1. What Ayla is

Ayla is a personal mood diary. It lets you record how you feel, write notes by voice or by hand, answer a daily question, and keep memories. Some features use artificial intelligence to clean up transcribed text, hold a conversation, and produce weekly and monthly summaries.

2. What Ayla is not

Ayla is not a medical device and does not provide medical, mental health, psychological or therapeutic services.

Summaries, observations and anything the AI companion says are generated automatically and are not a diagnosis, a treatment plan, or professional advice. They can be inaccurate.

Do not use Ayla as a substitute for a doctor or therapist, and do not rely on it in an emergency. If you are in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, contact your local emergency services or a crisis line immediately.

3. Who can use it

You must be at least 13 years old, or at least 16 if you are in the European Union. The app has no accounts and no registration.

4. Your content

Everything you write stays yours. We claim no ownership of your entries and no right to use them for anything beyond delivering the feature you asked for.

Your entries are stored on your device, not on our servers. That also means you are responsible for keeping them safe: if you lose the device, delete the app, or reset it, the data is gone and we cannot recover it. The app can export everything to a file — Settings → Data → Export.

How your content is handled is described in the Privacy Policy.

5. AI features

Voice note cleanup, chat and summaries rely on a language model operated by a third party. Output is generated automatically and may contain errors, including changing a word you actually said. Review anything important before relying on it.

These features require an internet connection and may be unavailable, slow, or fail. They can also be changed or removed as providers change.

You can turn AI processing off entirely in Settings → AI. The rest of the app keeps working.

6. Subscriptions and payment

Some features require a paid subscription. Subscriptions are sold and processed by Apple through the App Store. We never receive your payment details.

• Payment is charged to your Apple account at confirmation of purchase.
• A subscription renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
• You can manage and cancel subscriptions in your Apple account settings.
• Refunds are handled by Apple under their policy, not by us.

Prices may change. We will not change the price of an ongoing subscription period without telling you first.

7. Acceptable use

Please do not:

• use the app to break the law or to harm yourself or someone else;
• try to interfere with, overload or reverse engineer the service;
• use automated means to access our servers outside of normal app use.

8. Intellectual property

The app, the website, their design, text, graphics, logos and icons belong to us and are protected by copyright and other laws. You may not copy, reproduce or distribute them without written permission. This does not apply to your own content.

9. Availability and changes

We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the app or its features. We may update these terms; the date at the top will change, and continued use means you accept the new version. For significant changes we will announce it in the app or by email.

10. Disclaimer and liability

The app and the website are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI output will be accurate.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, or for loss of data. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including your statutory consumer rights.

11. Waitlist

Joining the waitlist gives you a notification when Ayla becomes available. It does not guarantee access or any particular launch date. You can unsubscribe at any time.
